This is a hamlet situated on the eastern slope of the hill from which it derives its name. It was also, once upon a time, a station stop on the Ulster and Delaware Railroad. During these early times the rural hamlet had just one general store and a few boarding houses – to accommodate summer visitors. Fast forward to today and you’ll find not much has changed as it is still a peaceful and beautiful spot. The gorgeous Birch Creek flows right by, perfect for taking a dip in the summer. Pine Hill Lake is nearby for swimming and boating, and Belleayre ski center is just a 7 minute drive.
